Periscope Pictures is a Canadian production company, based in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Founded by show runner Cheryl Wagner, the creator of The Big Comfy Couch, and writer/director/producer Harmony Wagner in 2010, Periscope Picture creates original screen-based entertainment for a global audience.
With Jason Rogerson joining the team, Periscope Pictures has produced web series, films, and music video as well as commercials and corporate videos for other companies.
Harmony Wagner is an award-winning filmmaker who began as a childhood performer for theatre and television. She wrote episodes of The Big Comfy Couch, Panda Bear Daycare and produced IPF web series BunnyBop! As a CTV Fellow, Harmony took the television version of BunnyBop! to the Banff World Media Festival and was nominated for best International Pilot in the Children’s and Youth category.
Her first short film VAST won two audience awards and Queen of the Crows was selected for CBC’s Short Film Face Off and Telefilm Canada’s Not Short On Talent program at the Cannes Film Festival.
She was selected for the Telefilm Canada Micro-Budget Production Program and co-wrote and directed comedy feature film, Kooperman, playing at festivals and comic-cons across the country. Singing To Myself, her second feature as writer/director/producer, was a recipient of a 1K Wave Atlantic award and premieres at the 2016 Atlantic Film Festival.
With a degree in Film & Video from York University, Jason has 17 years of video and theatre production experience. In addition to writing, directing and editing numerous commercials and corporate industrials, Jason wrote and produced seven seasons of sketch comedy troupe Sketch-22 and web series Bunkerdown. He directed the short films Picking Lucy’s Brain, CBC 3-2-1 Award winning, Lucky 7, and music video The Way We Do’er.
As a producer, his shorts VAST and Queen of the Crows, have broadcast on CBC and played at numerous festivals. Jason co-wrote, produced and edited the feature length comedy Kooperman, which was selected for Telefilm Canada’s Micro-budget Production Program. A 1K Wave Atlantic selection, Singing To Myself is his second feature film credit as producer and editor.
Jason won the 2016 L.M. Montgomery PEI Writing For Children Award with his short story, Thalia. He plays bass in bands Watertown and Lady Soul, and plays silly with his son, Arlo.

Her career in children’s entertainment began in theatre as a puppeteer and clown. Cheryl is very proud of and grateful for her years working closely with Jim Henson on Fraggle Rock and Ernie Coombs on Mr. Dressup. Her film experience includes the role of Ms. Finch in the Sesame Street film Follow That Bird. Ms. Wagner has also been involved in the writing and creation of adult dramatic series with Dream Street Pictures.
A member of the Writer’s Guild of Canada, she was the Prince Edward Island Creative Development Representative for Super Channel. She was on the Board of Directors of WIFT-Atlantic and now sits on the board for Culture PEI. Cheryl was honored with a WIFT Wave Award at the 2011 Women Making Waves Conference in Halifax.
She co-founded Periscope Pictures with Harmony Wagner and wrote, produced and directed the IPF pre-school web series Bunny Bop!
